Alpine Trail rocker link detail.

ONE PIECE FORGED ROCKER

The heart of the Alpine Trail’s MultiTrac suspension is the forged one-piece rocker link. The strength and stiffness of the rocker keeps the rear of the bike tracking straight, providing smooth suspension operation under the most demanding conditions.

Detail of the tire clearance that the one piece forged rocker link allows for.

BRIDGELESS SEATSTAY

The stiffness of the one-piece rocker link allows for a bridgeless seatstay design, offering zero compromises on stiffness while at the same time allowing for maximum tire clearance and short chainstays.

MODERN ANGLES

The Alpine Trail has a slack 63.5º head tube angle paired with a steep 78º seat tube angle and long reach to provide the best modern trail bike experience. The bike lets you climb better than ever before, while giving you even more confidence when descending.

Suspension Setup

REAR SHOCK SET UP

Recommended Sag = 30%/19.5mm

Step 1: Set correct pressure in rear shock.

Step 2: Sit on the bike and cycle the suspension (*with correct riding gear).

Step 3: Reset O-ring and sit on the bike, DO NOT BOUNCE, carefully step off.

Step 4: Measure sag (from o-ring to seal of shock), If it does not match the bike’s recommended sag in millimeters repeat process.

Step 5: Adjust rebound setting to ensure proper control.

FORK SET UP

Marin recommends that all bikes front and rear suspension feel balanced

Step 1: After rear sag is set follow the recommended pressure from the fork manufacture.

Step 2: Bounce evenly up and down on the bike, cycling the suspension up and down to make sure both front and rear suspension feel balanced, if the front does not match the rear add or release pressure.

Step 3: Once the bike feels balanced adjust the rebound damping to ensure proper control.

Reviews

There’s something refreshingly classic about how Marin approached the Alpine Trail Carbon. The choices in travel, spec and geometry might, from a distance, seem a little all over the place, but what results is a bike that can go all over the place. A bike that feels as natural on mellow local lunch loops as it does on big endless descents. The sum of its parts is a versatile machine that has something for most of us ‘normal’ riders, but with just enough extra for the superhuman shredders.

Marin’s Alpine Trail Carbon comes with everything you want, right out of the box. It’s rough and ready to rumble, with high-level components at a price that can’t be beat.

The Marin Alpine Trail is an exceptionally good value for the money, and one of the most playful, fun Enduro bikes that we’ve been on recently. If you’re someone who’s more inclined to approach the trail like a playground and look for side hits and things to pop off, but also want a bike that’s up for some steeper, gnarlier trails, maybe some bike park laps, and a whole bunch of airtime, it’s great.
